SPECIALTY-SHOW- is a show given by a Club formed for the improvement of any one breed of purebred dogs, at which Championship points may be awarded to said breed.
NATIONAL SHOW- this is an AKC APPROVED show that is held by the Parent Club of any purebred dog breed and held in a location approved by the Parent Club and AKC. REGIONAL SHOW- this is an AKC approved show that is also held by the Parent Club in different geographical locations as approved by the Parent Club and follows the same guidelines as for a National Show. Usually, an affiliate club hosts such Regional and holds a Specialty Show in conjunction with such Regional
SUPPORTED ENTRY- Simply means, any club, including the Parent Club, can offer supported entries. It is saying the breed is being supported by an entity, that can offer trophies, prizes, etc. at the show and is so listed in the Premium and Catalog as supporting the entries at that show.
It could mean either 2 things:
1. Trophy Support- Is when a licensed or unlicensed club will support the entry at an all breed show with trophies. Unlicensed clubs can only be recognized on the trophy page of the premium for those donations. No application, AKC approval, or parent club approval needed.
NOTE: for our records and history, ATFTC would like to know to note the involvement of all clubs for the breed.
2. Trophy Support w/Sweeps-Same above but must be done by a licensed or at least B level club and includes sweeps. Application for sweeps and AKC approval and ATFTC needed.
