President's Report
September 22, 2012
Dear American Toy Fox Terrier Members,
As I am sure you are aware there have been numerous changes to
your Club’s Officers and Board of Directors recently. Mike
Massey submitted his resignation to the Board of Directors
several weeks ago. Based on the terms of our CBLs, Lisa Curry
stepped into the role of President from the Vice President’s
position. At that point, the BOD appointed myself, Cindy
Enroughty, as the interim Vice President.
This week, Susan McCoy has resigned as Treasurer and BOD member.
The Board of Directors has subsequently appointed Kathy Gilliam
as the interim Treasurer. For those of you who are not familiar
with Ms. Gilliam, she is a CPA whose firm specializes in the
world of dogs.
Lisa Curry has also tendered her resignation this week. That
leaves me to move into the role of President. As most of you
have likely received your 2012 Election slate and Bios, you are
aware of my background. At this time, the BOD has decided that
we will leave the role of Vice President “vacant” until after
the upcoming elections. It is not critical to fill this position
immediately (the same was not true for President and Treasurer)
so the current Board of Directors will wait for the membership
to make its choice known with the 2012 election.
The CBLs clearly state that anyone assuming an interim position
must stand for election at the next election cycle. That leaves
the following position to be voted on in this 2012 election
cycle.
President (interim)
Vice President (vacant)
Secretary (incumbent)
Treasurer (interm)
BOD (incumbent)
BOD (incumbent)
BOD (incumbent)
All of these resignations tendered were voluntarily submitted
and for a variety of personal reasons. If these individuals
choose to share this with you, they are free to do so. The Board
of Directors received these resignations in confidence and will
not discuss them further.
This truly looks like an election that will be “for the members
and by the members”. I am hopeful for a record breaking return
of ballots this year. As you will be aware from the Newsletter,
we have hired an outside firm to handle this entire election. I
am very excited to be part of the Board at this time.
On another note, please be aware that all plans are going full
steam ahead for our upcoming Parent Specialty and National
Specialty in October. We have had wonderful participation from
our members in regards to donations for decorations, the auction
and the supported entry for the two All Breed Shows with Black
Mountain Kennel Club. It should be a wonderful experience for
all who are able to attend. Also, please bring your ideas and
suggestions for our Annual Membership Meeting being held
Thursday evening.
I really am looking forward to seeing everyone who can attend in
Vegas! I am including my personal contact information below (it
is also on the Membership List on the ATFTC website). Please
feel free to contact me directly at any time with any questions
or concerns you might have and I will do my utmost to make this
a club for all.
